Girls Only

Tonight I met several girls from work at the Denver Center for Performing Arts to see "Girls Only". We laughed so hard! It was a two-woman show about life as a woman...I highly recommend it if you get a chance to see it.

A big thank-you to my sweet husband for coming home from work early so I could go out with the girls!

Second-Hand Surprise

Carter got a "new" tricycle from one of the Nurse Practitioners I work with. Her kids had grown out of it & she was tired of storing it, so she offered to give it to Carter...pretty cool! We love to "recycle" things. When Carter woke up from his nap on Tuesday, he found his new wheels waiting for him. Needless to say, he was thrilled! He hasn't figured out the pedals yet, but as you can see, he manages to get around.

Grandad comes to visit!

My dad & Nancy came to visit this past weekend. They brought us the materials for our dog run so Dad & Sean could get that going before the landscaper comes next month. Nancy watched Carter on Saturday so the guys could work outside. They did a great job & had the dog run finished by Sunday. It was a short visit, but we had fun and are SO GRATEFUL to Dad & Nancy for all the help! Thank you for everything!

Dinner with Grampy

Last night, we met up with Grampy and Uncle Erwin for dinner. They were in Ft. Collins taking care of some things for Uncle H., so we met in the middle. Carter loved all the gadgets and gizmos in the country store part of Cracker Barrel. We had a yummy meal together but wish it could have lasted longer. Can't wait to see you next time, Grampy!

Last night, a bunch of girls from work got together for a going-away party for Jane & Traci. They are leaving us to be flight nurses for High-Risk OB transports. Katie was gracious enough to hostess the party at her BEAUTIFUL new home. We all had a fab time...I just wish it could have been for a different reason. We will miss you girls! Mimi sent Carter at Target gift card for Valentine's Day and we were saving it for something special. Since I have been avoiding Target lately, it has just been buring a hole in my pocket for the past month. I took Carter to Target on St. Patrick's Day to pick out two new choo-choos...he picked out Emily & Toby (friends of Thomas the Tank Engine). Pretty cool!

Dinner with the Hutches

On Wednesday night, Sean had a dinner meeting for work so mom & I made a pot roast and invited the Hutchinsons over for dinner. It was fun to get everyone together, even if Sean did miss out on most of the night. I forgot about taking pictures until after Carter had gone to bed. Oops!

Sean has starting "flying" Carter around the living room and Carter loves it! It is so funny to watch...Carter climbs into one of his toy baskets and just sits there patiently until Sean is ready for take-off. It is pretty good entertainment to watch the two of them in action.

Mimi's last day in Denver

My mom was in town to visit us this past week and we had so much fun! We ate out a lot, went shopping and enjoyed the help with Carter. He sure loves his MiMi and has been asking about her since she flew home on Friday. Thank you for all of your help, mom! We love it when you visit & hope you can come back to Colorado really soon!

Starting him early...

Yesterday Mimi, Aunt Debbie & I took Carter to Cherry Creek North to walk around. We stopped at Starbucks & sat outside since it was such a nice day. We had to create a little barricade with the tables and chairs to keep the little stinker from escaping. Luckily, he was very happy to tip over our drinks and pull the straw out of mommy's cup. Pretty cool!

17 months old!

I cannot believe my little boy turned 17 months old today! He is a toddler in every way...always on the move and into everything! He is learning new words every day. Sean & I were joking that it sounds like he speaks French. He has been saying "Le bip" (he likes to dip EVERYTHING...ranch, ketchup, syrup, etc), "Le ball" (ball could be a blueberry, pea or actual ball), "Le spoon" (self explanatory). We're not sure where he picked up the French accent, but who cares? It's pretty funny. We are trying to enjoy every minute of this stage as we are having as much fun watching him explore and grow & he seems to be!

Who's this Mammaw person?

When I was pregnant with Carter, I asked my mom what she wanted the baby to call her...Grandma, Nanan, Gram, etc. She settled on "Mammaw" and that was that. Well, mom came for a visit on Monday and Carter has decided to call her "Mimi". I keep referring to her as "Mammaw" but he says "Mimi? Mimi?". So, Mimi it is!! Mom says he can call her whatever he wants. I think Carter has someone wrapped around his little finger!

Get that bird away from me!

Tonight mom, Carter, aunt Debbie & I went to Red Robin for dinner. Carter was very excited to see the big red bird...until he got right up close and personal. Once "Redd" crouched down beside him, Carter tried to get out of his highchair and as far away as possible! He kept saying "Up! Up!". It was pretty cute.


After dinner, Sean came by to pick up Carter so we could have girls' night & see a movie. We ended up seeing "Slumdog Millionaire". Not exactly the most uplifting movie, but nicely done. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Anyway, it was fun to see a movie in the theatre for a change!

Beary cute!

Grandad & grandma Nancy bought this for Carter when they were in Alaska. It has been so warm lately (over 70 degrees every day this week!), that we decided to bring out the short sleeves! Isn't it cute? I love the paw prints on the bottom. Thank you for the cute bear shirt!

I had gotten these at Baby Gap ($3.97) last winter & now Carter almost fits into them. I think they are so cute! Of course, getting him to keep them on is another story...
