Puppy Love

We are taking advantage of our Spring Break by meeting up with some of our favorite people for dinner this week!  On Wednesday, we ate at Red Robin with Kelsie and then went to her new apartment to meet her puppy, Wicklow (named after the city in Ireland where she lived).  He was very popular with Davis but Carter was a little intimidated by the nipping and jumping.  You know, typical puppy stuff.  He is a sweetheart and I told Kels we would puppy-sit him any time!  PS: Her new apartment is adorable, too!  So proud of my little cousin and her grown-up successes--new car, new apartment & newish real-life job.  

Chuck E. Cheese for Breakfast

Davis's preschool class went on a field trip to Chuck E. Cheese last week & I got to tag along!  I was kind of dreading it, but with only 16 kids in the place it was surprisingly fun.  Davis was ecstatic and told me that he wished we could live there. (Yikes!) I think he had permagrin for the entire two hours...it was so stinkin' cute.   The point of the outing was to tie in the theme of "celebrations" that they are doing in the classroom right now; the kids ordered & paid for themselves and then were responsible for some of their usual classroom routines while we were there.  As a side-bonus we got to eat pizza at 10:00 in the morning.

Carter was kind of upset (gross understatement) that his field trip was to the local Arts & Entertainment center for a play.  Other than that, it was a really fun day!

Bear Blankie's Back

Bear Blankie, Davis's prized possession, has been missing for the past couple of months.  He's been MIA before but always turned up after a day or two.  We had absolutely no idea where he went this last time & Davis handled it pretty well.  At bedtime, he would sometimes ask me if Bear Blankie was ever going to come home and we started telling him that Bear was on a big adventure.  That was a good enough answer, but it was still very sad because Davis would try to be brave and not cry, but it's hard to be brave at bedtime without your favorite bear...especially when you're four.  Then last week, we got a mysterious delivery at our doorstep!  Bear Blankie was back & he brought Davis a card explaining that he had been on a trip to the Bear Hospital.  They took good care of him there: fluffed and cleaned his fur, and sewed up the rip under his head so he looked almost NEW again!  What a relief to have this special guy home with Davis!  They have been pretty inseparable since. 

These two have been together for a long time, so we are all very happy to see them reunited!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Who doesn't love "The Cat in the Hat"?  The boys reluctantly modeled the hats they made at school to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday last week.  I loved those books as a kid and it is so fun to see them enjoying the same stories.

Date Night

While Aunt Christy was visiting us recently, she got to go on some fun dates downtown.  Carter thought she looked SO pretty before her night out at the Symphony!  While she was out Friday, we went to Joe's Crab Shack for a fun family date night.  :-)

White Belts!

We finally were well enough to go back to Taekwondo last week and the boys were so excited!  They knew they would be earning their white belts and it was a BIG deal.  (Some of the photos are blurry because I had to take them through the viewing window.)

 Carter's class is first.  He did a great job and was able to pick up the moves pretty quickly!
