Cozy Cow Dairy

One of my coworker friends organized a play date outing to Cozy Cow Dairy in Windsor.  We met everyone up there (it's quite a drive) for a fun tour of the dairy. It is quite an operation! They do everything from birthing calves to selling ice cream, cheese and fresh milk in their farm store.

Beautiful day in Colorado.  So lucky we get to live here!  (Not that we live on the actual dairy...you know what I mean.)

Halloween Play Date

We hosted a Halloween play date today for my work playgroup.  The kids wore their costumes.  I wore an orange boa.  It was awesome.   

Davis and Carter went all-out on the cookie decorating...at one point, Carter was sucking the icing out of the tube and Davis was putting the knife into the frosting tub and then eating it off the knife.  Lovely.  Can you say: Sugar. Overload.

When Sean got home from work, he wanted to decorate a cookie of his own.  Gotta love it.

 My creative co-workers made some Pinterest-worthy snacks.  Jack-O-Lantern mandarin orange cups; Mummy Dogs and (on the top left-below) Frankenstein pudding cups.  Fun!

Carter & his new ladyfriend, Cathy.  Carter was flirting with her like he was Magic Mike or something.  It was hilarious.  The best part was when he asked Cathy if she wanted to share his cookie with him, "Lady and the Tramp" style. (Remember the spaghetti scene?)  That's what she was laughing about.  Good times.

The Playdate to End All Playdates

I hosted our playgroup play date this afternoon and boy did we play! I had nine girls from work and 18 kiddos here for over two hours. We played, ate, played, colored the sidewalk, blew bubbles and ate some more. When everyone left, Carter had a juice box and crashed on the couch. Davis had more treats than any 18-month-old should and was ready to play long after Carter fell asleep. It was a house full of crazy, but everyone had a good time. Hope we can do it again soon!

Play Date

We met up with our playgroup friends for a much-needed outing to run off some energy. The boys had fun and the mommies enjoyed the chance to catch up, in between chasing wild children. Thank goodness Mimi was with us to help keep my two in check! We did the best we could, but didn't escape the day without a meltdown...or two.

It took us about 10 minutes to get the boys and ourselves bundled up. Davis was so layered that he could hardly bend his upper body...

...but could still hold a cookie!

playdate party

Since there are so many of us at work with kiddos about the same age, we decided to start a playgroup several months ago. We get together every other month or so. Anyway, this afternoon we had a very bittersweet play date at Christine's house to wish our friend/co-worker Jennifer well as she and her husband prepare move their family back to Texas. Jennifer is a wonderful nurse and just all-around great person. We are really going to miss her!

Jenny & I have babies that are about a month apart & her daughter is about two months younger than Carter. We have laughed several times about our "parallel lives" and have discovered so many similarities since having our kids, including that she bought Logan the same Christmas outfit I got for Davis. She is the blond, Republican version of me! (Well, maybe not, but we sure have a lot in common.)
