Crocs

We have been spending a lot of time outside in the new neighborhood, so I decided to break down and get some fun Summer shoes. The boys each got their first pair of Crocs and they have turned out to be a great investment! Davis almost never takes his off and Carter loves to wear them because they are so easy to get off & on. The each have their own favorite character on a shoe--too cute!

Bubbles & sidewalk chalk have been our sanity-savers until we can get the backyard landscaped.

Birthday Fun

Since Taylor & I have birthdays 10 days apart, we usually have one big family celebration. This year worked out great since Mimi was in town to help with the move. Happy 25th birthday, Tay Tay!

A little behind...

Since the move, the blog has definitely been getting neglected. I am going to try & get us caught up on the past month as I received a "not-so-subtle-hint" from Mimi this week about missing new photos on the blog. I'm on call tonight at work, so we'll see how much I get done!

Progress

We have been in the new house almost two weeks now and slowly things are coming together. There is still a ton of painting to do and the back yard to landscape, but at least the front yard looks nice! Lucky for us, that was included by the builder. Otherwise, we would still be living in a dirt pit.

There is a lot of activity going on in the new neighborhood, two new houses are going up on the street behind us and it is amazing how quickly they are taking shape! The boys and I enjoy watching the construction vehicles and the progress they are making daily. It will be fun to see the transformation over the next few years as there are another 170+ houses that will be built just West of us as the neighborhood expands. Next Summer, we will have the pool, clubhouse & playground to enjoy. I can't wait to take the boys!

We had the back yard fenced on Friday--yippee!! This was huge for us because we had been walking the dog several times a day out of necessity, something we were definitely not used to. Adding a double stroller to the mix was not fun. Oh, and did I mention it has been raining non-stop?

This is the only type of fence our HOA will allow...hopefully it will contain our crazy Macey! Getting used to the HOA thing will definitely take some time.

The side yard is actually where we have the most room. There is supposed to be another house built directly behind us and that person will have five yards converging on their lot. Glad we are on a corner lot!

Milestones

Today was Carter's last day of Preschool at his old school. He and I started taking "Mommy & Me" classes there when I was pregnant with Davis. He then did "Mom's Morning Out" there and started Preschool last Summer. We have loved the teachers at BP and the personalized attention he received in his small class.

It was sad to pick him up today, knowing it would probably be the last time he sees most of his "school friends" since we now live on the other side of town. I got a little teary just thinking that this is only the beginning of school milestones for Carter...a yearly reminder to mommies that little boys don't stay little for long and life is so quickly changing. I will try to slow down and take the time to enjoy every minute I have.

We love Miss Janessa!! Check out Carter's shirt--all the kids and Janessa put their hand prints on it with their names, so each child has a special shirt to remember their class. It is adorable.

Mother's Day Fun

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my three favorite guys. Sean had a great breakfast for me when I came home from work, the boys played outside most of the day and we grilled out for dinner and ate outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope all you moms out there had a special day, too!

The boys were cracking us up riding around in the Jeep until the battery died. We thought Carter's driving skills were getting better, then he ran over one of my patio chairs and we are back to thinking this boy should not get his driver's license until age 18!

Just Like Big Brother

Davis is fascinated by Carter using the potty. He wants to be a "big boy" too! Lately he has been wanting to sit on the potty like his big brother. I have been humoring him and he gets such a kick out of it! It is pretty funny to watch.

Can't forget about the toilet paper!

He didn't want to get down, but after "wiping" several times, mom decided enough was enough. :-) This boy will probably be potty-trained in half the time of his big brother (We can only hope!!!).

Packin' Up

The boys are having way more fun with the boxes and packing than mommy is! So far, they have built flying "thing-a-ma-jiggers" like the "Cat In the Hat" and "choo choos" out of the boxes. The night Sean brought home the plotter paper from work was a big hit, too. We had huge pieces of paper spread out all over the floor and they colored all over it...it was not so fun during clean-up, but it certainly kept them entertained!!
