Halloween Play Date

We hosted a Halloween play date today for my work playgroup.  The kids wore their costumes.  I wore an orange boa.  It was awesome.   

Davis and Carter went all-out on the cookie decorating...at one point, Carter was sucking the icing out of the tube and Davis was putting the knife into the frosting tub and then eating it off the knife.  Lovely.  Can you say: Sugar. Overload.

When Sean got home from work, he wanted to decorate a cookie of his own.  Gotta love it.

 My creative co-workers made some Pinterest-worthy snacks.  Jack-O-Lantern mandarin orange cups; Mummy Dogs and (on the top left-below) Frankenstein pudding cups.  Fun!

Carter & his new ladyfriend, Cathy.  Carter was flirting with her like he was Magic Mike or something.  It was hilarious.  The best part was when he asked Cathy if she wanted to share his cookie with him, "Lady and the Tramp" style. (Remember the spaghetti scene?)  That's what she was laughing about.  Good times.

Fall Fun

Megan & I took the kids to the pumpkin patch yesterday after school.  Strangely, we did everything but actually pick pumpkins.  It was windy, dirt & hay were blowing everywhere, and for about three of the longest minutes of my life, I lost Davis among the crowd of kids.  We made the rounds through the jumpy castles and huge slide, saw the animals and had our pictures taken with every wooden cut-out they had.  Then, we called it a day and went out to lunch...guess we'll have to make a separate trip for pumpkin pics!

Sean has been bringing home paper rolls from work to build rockets for the boys.  Since then, they have been blasting off all over the place!

Party Time!

Carter celebrated with a birthday party at JumpStreet on Saturday.  And celebrate we did!  The boys had fun jumping with their friends on the big trampolines and inflatables.  A big THANK YOU to everyone who came.  We appreciate you all being there to help us party!

This is what FIVE looks like!

  Today was probably the coolest birthday ever, 10-11-12, and Carter celebrated his special day to the fullest.  He woke up to Avengers cupcakes and Superhero overload.  We just let the good times roll today...after all, you're only five once!

 After school, we went to McD's for Happy Meals and a little play time!

Then, we went to see Hotel Transylvania!  I was worried it might be too scary for the boys, but after a little Google research, I thought they would be fine.  Turns out, it was way more funny than scary--they loved it!

After the movie, I had great hopes that we would be having nap time.  The boys had other ideas.  So, we did more Lego and Superhero stuff to pass the time until Daddy got home from work.  Then, it was off to Olive Garden!  (I'm pretty sure that my boys love OG so much because it was my "last supper" the night before my c-section with each of them.  Makes sense, right?) 

 

 Gotta love a big piece of chocolate cake with your name spelled out in chocolate sauce! Davis could not wait to get his hands on that!  Yum.

After a day like today, hopefully Buzz and Woody will sleep well tonight!  The birthday boy was so proud to finally be FIVE and was asking me all day yesterday about what "being five would feel like".  At the end of the day today, he decided it felt a lot like being four did.  :-)  He was so touched by the cards and phone calls that he received today--it made him feel so special.  Some of you called while we were at dinner tonight, so I'm sorry we didn't get to talk to everyone.  We love you all and are so happy that you think our boy is a special as we do.  How blessed we are!

Boys & Their Toys

I went to Hobby Lobby this morning looking for one specific thing and left with a playroom theme. Thank goodness for 50% off sales!  Since every Beilman male seems to have a love of real cars and we have watched Cars & Cars 2 about a gazillion times, an automobile theme seemed like a good fit for us.  I also recycled some artwork that I forgot I had--love it when that happens!  And no, the playroom almost never really looks like this.  Most days, you are doing good to not step on a Lego or HotWheels car when you step foot in there!

 A couple of weeks ago, Sean's mom sent us a huge box full of Sean's old Micromachines, Construx and Legos.  The boys thought it was Christmas day!  I think Sean has enjoyed playing with them as much as Carter & Davis.  Thank you, Grandma Pat, for mailing these and saving them for Sean for all these years.  It is so neat that our boys will now get to play with them, just like Daddy did!

Never Thought I'd See the Day...

Yep, my husband has started a blog: http://seansgarage.blogspot.com/

Admittedly, he will probably not be updating it as much as I do our family blog, but he is planning to record his progress on his "project car" as it is affectionately called.  I told him that he should go in with his brothers to do a Beilman Brothers Blog (there are four of them), since they are all into cars.  I'm not holding my breath on that, but it will be fun to see the car transformed from a hunk of metal to something we can actually ride in someday.

No Smoke Here!

My friend, Megan, and her girls took us to this awesome park last week after school!  It is right next to one of our city's Fire Departments and has enough equipment that it wore the boys out, just in time for naps.  We will definitely be going back!  As a bonus, there was a fire truck parked outside the station and they were spraying water all over the treetops nearby.  The boys were loving it!
