Sean has been bringing home paper rolls from work to build rockets for the boys.  Since then, they have been blasting off all over the place!

Boys & Their Toys

I went to Hobby Lobby this morning looking for one specific thing and left with a playroom theme. Thank goodness for 50% off sales!  Since every Beilman male seems to have a love of real cars and we have watched Cars & Cars 2 about a gazillion times, an automobile theme seemed like a good fit for us.  I also recycled some artwork that I forgot I had--love it when that happens!  And no, the playroom almost never really looks like this.  Most days, you are doing good to not step on a Lego or HotWheels car when you step foot in there!

 A couple of weeks ago, Sean's mom sent us a huge box full of Sean's old Micromachines, Construx and Legos.  The boys thought it was Christmas day!  I think Sean has enjoyed playing with them as much as Carter & Davis.  Thank you, Grandma Pat, for mailing these and saving them for Sean for all these years.  It is so neat that our boys will now get to play with them, just like Daddy did!

KC, sans Mommy. Day 1: Legoland

That's right, even though I am the one from Kansas City, I was not along for this recent trip in which Sean loaded up the boys, drove 12 hours from Denver to KC (it took longer because 4 1/2 hours were with the windshield wipers on full blast since a torrential downpour followed him all the way to Topeka!).  Instead, I stayed home to work (start pity party now) while Sean went to the Beilman Family reunion and stayed with the boys at Mimi & Grampy's house.

Now to the fun part: Legoland Discovery Center at Crown Center

Uncle Josh, Grampy and Mimi went with Sean and the boys!  

 Sean said that each Legoland has a miniature replica of the city where it's located, all made of Legos of course.  Here you can get some scale of how small everything was:

The Emerald City (above) from the Wizard of Oz.  Let me just clarify that Kansas City (at least the cool parts) are in MISSOURI.  The fact that the Wizard of Oz is represented here is a bit confusing, since the movie takes place in Kansas.  However, the city does straddle the state line and there is an industrial, boring side of Kansas City that lies in Kansas.  *It is probably my biggest pet peeve when I tell people I am from Kansas City and they say "Oh, you're from Kansas?".  Okay, I'll move on...

 Sean took this photo to show me that the bright green tees I packed for him to dress the boys, in an effort for them to stand out in a crowd, backfired since there was a huge group (there were about 50 more kids, not pictured) of summer camp kids at Legoland...all dressed in, you guessed it, BRIGHT GREEN SHIRTS!

 After a full day at Crown Center, everyone met for dinner.  Including, Aunt Natalie (who is due to have our baby niece next month!!) and Sean's parents who had just arrived for the reunion.  What a day!

Daddy is the Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday to the best husband a girl could ask for and the best Daddy ever!!  We love you, Sean!

On the way home from picking up Sean's cake at the bakery, Carter asked if Daddy was really turning 34 years old.  I told him "yes", then Carter asked "Well, how old are you Mommy?".  I told Carter that I was 37 and Carter said "What?!  You mean you're older than Daddy?  Does Daddy know how old you are?"  I was cracking up, but I told Carter that Daddy has always known I was older and I assured Carter that Sean didn't mind.  Carter still wasn't convinced.  He told me "Well, I think we'd better go home & tell Dad right away."  Seriously, he acted like I've been fooling Sean all these years...guess I know where HIS loyalties are!

The boys were more than happy to help Daddy eat his cake!  Carter kept referring to Sean as "the birthday boy"...it was pretty cute.  This is almost the same pose we got on my birthday--Davis smiling from ear to ear and Carter looking longingly at the cake.  

Hitting the Slopes

Sean took a couple of days off last week to go skiing while Josh & Christy were in town.  They hit Loveland on Wednesday, then Josh & Sean took Carter skiing on Thursday!  Uncle Josh got some great videos and photos from the day--thanks, Josh!  It is amazing to see my little guy on the slopes like a pro (yes, I'm biased).  For four, he seems pretty confident out there--way to go, Carter!  Davis is chomping at the bit to go skiing with his brother & daddy--only one more year, buddy!

Lots to Celebrate

Not only did we celebrate Father's Day yesterday, but it was also Sean's birthday! We didn't do anything too exciting and Sean actually did some work out in the garage (sorry about that!) but we were all together, so we celebrated that.
Thank you, Sean, for being such a rock for our family. You are the most amazing husband and father we could ever ask for. You mean the world to us!!!

Also, a BIG Happy Father's Day to my Dad, Step-Dad and Father-in-Law. You have all had such a positive influence in my life and I love you all. Hope you had a great day!

Voltron

Sean's mom had saved one of his favorite toys from childhood, Voltron, and kept it in mint condition for him for all these years. Yesterday, Carter discovered it and fell in love. He kept asking me how to do this and how to do that and I was so relieved when Sean finally came home from work and could show him how it all works. Thank you, Mom B, for saving this for Sean. I think the boys are going to enjoy it as much as Sean did!
