Spring Visit From Mimi

Mimi paid us a visit last week and boy, did we make the most of it!  We spent most of the day Thursday in the car taking Aunt Debbie to/from appointments.  Very productive day!

We had taken the boys to see "Rio 2" after school on Friday.  Mom said she couldn't remember the last time she saw two movies in one day! ;-)

Happy Easter 2014!

I was so happy that I got to see the boys open their Easter "baskets" on Sunday morning before I left for work.  Working a job that is open 24/7 means that sometimes I am not home on special days.  I have to admit, I was sad to think that I would miss seeing their faces since I knew what the Easter Bunny was bringing this year (I peeked).  When the boys got up at 6 AM on Sunday, I was thrilled!  After the reveal, I headed off to work and all was good.

Sean and Aunt Christy then took the boys to ski at Loveland. They got to meet the Easter Bunny and according to Carter, skiing was "wicked, wicked, wicked awesome".  Gotta love that kid.  (Thanks, Aunt Christy, for introducing the new terminology.)

Easter Eggstravaganza

The boys and I dyed Easter eggs last week after school.  What is it about the smell of coloring Easter eggs anyway?  I love it!  Anyway, the holiday kind of crept up on me this year so it was nice to dye the eggs and add some festive flair around here.  We were getting all prepped for the big hunt!

The student council sponsored an Easter egg hunt after school on Friday. The boys were super-excited!  I think the entire thing lasted about three and a half minutes.  

This was the outfield of the baseball field at school.  No match for a bunch of Preschoolers & Kindergartners!

 Yep.  The lady who sells personalized Thirty-One bags had her kids using lunch boxes and backpacks to collect their eggs.  Classy.

Aunt Christy got to enjoy the festivities, too!

Aunt Christy Meets Joe

Aunt Christy took us out for a nice dinner at Joe's Crab Shack last week.  She had never been before! Crazy, I know.  She gave it two thumbs up, especially once we found out Joe's has fried pickles.  Dee-lish! We had a fun night & I'm pretty sure Sister will be going back.

Chalk It Up

Sean & the boys had fun with sidewalk chalk on Saturday.  When it was 72 degrees outside.  Today it has been snowing all day and the drawings have all washed away.  Gotta love Colorado!

Sister Moves In

Aunt Christy is now a member of the Beilman household! She is moved into the guest room & even has a home office set up...in the basement.  We are so happy to have her here & I have decided that it is nice to have a second female around to help balance things out in this crazy male-dominated environment. She is a huge help with the boys and around the house.  Plus, we are having fun watching TV & having girl talk in the evenings after Sean falls asleep on the couch.  

Sister & Grampy came bearing gifts from Kansas City.  Thanks for the Easter treasures, Mimi!

Spring Fling With the Beilmans

We had a fun visit with Sean's parents while the boys were on Spring Break.  We got to visit the Children's Museum and Boondock's, a huge family fun center.  It was nice to get out and about with extra help! We enjoyed our time together & love you both! Thanks for making the trip to Colorado.  Can't wait to see you all again this Summer!

Puppy Love

We are taking advantage of our Spring Break by meeting up with some of our favorite people for dinner this week!  On Wednesday, we ate at Red Robin with Kelsie and then went to her new apartment to meet her puppy, Wicklow (named after the city in Ireland where she lived).  He was very popular with Davis but Carter was a little intimidated by the nipping and jumping.  You know, typical puppy stuff.  He is a sweetheart and I told Kels we would puppy-sit him any time!  PS: Her new apartment is adorable, too!  So proud of my little cousin and her grown-up successes--new car, new apartment & newish real-life job.
