Fun Times

Grandad & Grandma Nancy were in town last weekend to help me with the boys while Sean was away for work. They were a huge help, as usual, and the boys had a great time wearing them out while I was working and sleeping. I even had the luxury of going shopping by myself while they were here--what a treat!!! (Notice the jean blanket we are using as curtains...we still have some work to do on the new place. )

Pool Time

We broke out the whale pool over the weekend to beat the 90+ degree heat we've been "enjoying" lately. If this keeps up, I may throw caution to the wind and take a dip in there myself. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Lots to Celebrate

Not only did we celebrate Father's Day yesterday, but it was also Sean's birthday! We didn't do anything too exciting and Sean actually did some work out in the garage (sorry about that!) but we were all together, so we celebrated that.
Thank you, Sean, for being such a rock for our family. You are the most amazing husband and father we could ever ask for. You mean the world to us!!!

Also, a BIG Happy Father's Day to my Dad, Step-Dad and Father-in-Law. You have all had such a positive influence in my life and I love you all. Hope you had a great day!

18 Months Already?!

We took Davis for his 18-month well check yesterday (see his stats in the sidebar). It was a little late because, to be honest, I forgot about it with the move and all. Thankfully, we have a healthy little boy! Davis is doing very well developmentally and talking a lot more now. He can repeat almost everything you say and will walk around saying "knock knock" in an effort to tell jokes just like his big brother. (They both need to work on their punchlines a little bit.) He also loves to brush his teeth and have Mommy carry him, even though he is perfectly capable of running around the house and climbing everything we own.
Davis is going to be my little trouble-maker and my class clown, I'm afraid. He cracks us up and even makes Carter laugh on a daily basis. He gets into trouble by doing things he knows he's not supposed to do, all the while saying "no no", but he is so darn cute that Mommy has a hard time getting mad at him. I'm sure that will come back to bite me later.
I'm not sure where the time has gone, but my baby is now a little boy. Sniff. We love you, Davis!! You are such a joy to our family.

The Playdate to End All Playdates

I hosted our playgroup play date this afternoon and boy did we play! I had nine girls from work and 18 kiddos here for over two hours. We played, ate, played, colored the sidewalk, blew bubbles and ate some more. When everyone left, Carter had a juice box and crashed on the couch. Davis had more treats than any 18-month-old should and was ready to play long after Carter fell asleep. It was a house full of crazy, but everyone had a good time. Hope we can do it again soon!

Voltron

Sean's mom had saved one of his favorite toys from childhood, Voltron, and kept it in mint condition for him for all these years. Yesterday, Carter discovered it and fell in love. He kept asking me how to do this and how to do that and I was so relieved when Sean finally came home from work and could show him how it all works. Thank you, Mom B, for saving this for Sean. I think the boys are going to enjoy it as much as Sean did!

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

Check out the view from the tub! The boys had fun playing in the big tub (a huge improvement over the old 60-year-old tub at the other house) and watching the workers building two new houses behind us. We have a perfect view from the tub window, so Carter was much more interested in that than getting clean. Surprise, surprise!

Memorial Day

My friend, Cydney, was in town from LA over Memorial Day weekend, so we decided to have a small BBQ. It was eight years ago that Amy #1 and I moved Cyd to her cute Hollywood apartment so she could start her new career in reality TV production. I cannot believe it's been that long ago! We had a fun time trying to get the grill to take off since the wind out here can be ridiculous at times. It literally blew the lid off the grill and then blew grill over. Luckily, Amy's mom Karen was here to save the day. She fixed everything on the stove while the rest of us drank beer & watched. Thank you, Karen!!!

Crocs

We have been spending a lot of time outside in the new neighborhood, so I decided to break down and get some fun Summer shoes. The boys each got their first pair of Crocs and they have turned out to be a great investment! Davis almost never takes his off and Carter loves to wear them because they are so easy to get off & on. The each have their own favorite character on a shoe--too cute!

Bubbles & sidewalk chalk have been our sanity-savers until we can get the backyard landscaped.

Birthday Fun

Since Taylor & I have birthdays 10 days apart, we usually have one big family celebration. This year worked out great since Mimi was in town to help with the move. Happy 25th birthday, Tay Tay!
